Paul “Seiji” Dolby began in the world of music as a classic violin player. It was in the early 90s, when he was still a teenager, when he would start working and experimenting with hardcore, jungle and house genres, adding his early experiments to the Reinforced label.
As a founding member of the group from London “Bugz In The Attic”, Seiji has been one of the broken beatz pioneers, playing regularly at the legendary Co-Op and expanded the broken influence around the entire world. After the group, Seiji edited the experimental “DJ Tools” with Sonar Kollectiv, while he produced the successful single “Overpowered” by Roisin Murphy.
Since then, Paul’s work would have a deep influence in the funky and contemporary British garage scene, while he continue mixing artists like Erykah Badu, Crookers and Gorillaz and published with labels like Ubiquity, Ninja Tune and Mad Decent. In his magnificent sessions, he would add different styles (broken, house, disco, funk, and even drum n’ bass), with an excellent technique and an infallible focus on the dance floor.
