He is not known by the great European audience, but most DJs have tried his productions throughout the last 15 years. This man from New York was raised with street music, creating his first mix with cassettes, cutting tracks with scissors. He would then buy a vetusto plate, he experimented with his first vinyl album scratches and he discovered that he could do a lot of things, with a box of rhythms. He was one of the people who contributed to the birth of what we now know as house music. As a sound engineer, he has worked for Sade, Joey Negro and Eric B & Rakim, he has regrouped three labels (Loop D’Loop, Cabaret and Footstompin’Records) and he has also been at the main events in New York and Berlin, with exuberant results. Stuck rifts, warm keyboards, smooth tunes, hot percussions…Pal Joey represents old school, master of masters, house in its purest state.
