An electronic scene which is still popular today, began to emerge in Berlin during the early 90s. It was during those years, that Steffen Berkhahn would start mixing for different clubs in the city. Tresor or E-Werk and other techno music clubs, would count with him as part of their repertoire. It did not take him long to figure out that music had another dimension and that what he experimented was even deeper. Dixon would take his profession very seriously, even declaring that he is on a mission, to transmit his passion for music, by making his sessions seen by others. This is why, this artists does not understand why people go to a club and spend their time wandering from one place to the other, without paying attention to what is being played. It is precisely here, that Stephan gets involved, trying to create an ideal atmosphere to capture the public’s attention. He formed a duet, with Georg Levin from Wahoo, with whom he published his work in Sonarkollektiv. He is an expert in re-drawing other artists’ work; Dixon enjoys re-editing Junior Boys, Thom York, Romanthony, Ian Pooley, Henrik Schwarz or Saschienne, amongst others. He was involved with the label from Berlin, Sonar Kollektiv and since the middle of the past decade he has been in charge of Innervisions, which is a label that he co-owns with Ame and Henrik Schwarz.
