Musical surrealism

Carlos Romero grew up in the midst of a musical family, surrounded by instruments and with a special talent for percussion. With these precedents it was clear what his destiny would be... So we guess that no one was surprised when, at the age of 12, he went on stage playing drums in a punk band.

This musical baptism was followed by years of study, experimentation and knowledge of Latin, Flamenco, African rhythms... Anything that was related to percussion fit in his musical spectrum. In 2008, and thanks to the program "Siglo 21" of Radio 3, his sound began to attract the attention of great labels and important events producers... the tornado Blasmanjazz began to raze on the worldwide dance floors clubs : 13 KALLEs, SOMA, TOKOo CLUB, PRIMAVERA SOUND, MAMBO, DUBCLUB (Madrid), STUDIO 54 (Oviedo), COOL ROOM (Gijón), OHJU CLUB (Cádiz), BORA BORA (Ibiza), WEEKEND (Belgium), PLATINUM (London)... and a looong etcetera.

He later began collaborating with Almoukri Records, a peculiar label that was born for all music styles, including Jazz, Blues, Flamenco and other musics of the world, and where Blasmanjazz cultivated his most electronic side. In his live sets, the show is guaranteed, combining analog drums, synths, frequency modulators and countless machines that all together create avant-garde sounds with a strong artistic component.

He is currently co-owner of Gramola. Rec, a high projection label that places its Techno, Minimal and House releases on the top charts, and which is supported by important stars like Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, Pig & Dan, among others.
