It was around 1995, when the Jazzanova German collective started forming in Berlin (Sonarkollectiv – Berlin)
It was formed by a group of DJs and Berlin producers in 1995. Jazzanova is one of the most influential projects in the “electronic” jazz revision. Time, has converted this music into a synonym of vanguards and quality, which has created a style of its own that battles against any tendency or style. Germans look into a never ending vinyl collection, which they combine with styles like bossanova to folk and even jazz and soul, to create some very authentic styles that are created by true masters of the industry.
They have been favored and supported by people like Gilles Peterson or Rainer Trueby, who have consolidated a magnificent career with very unlikely projects such as B.S.O from the “Belle et fou” musical, the recompilation series from “Blue Note Trip”, to which the prestige Blue Note jazz label gave them access to, from their historic catalogue or the Sonarkollektiv label, of which they are responsible. At the same time, Alex Barck was leading the duet Barck & Prommer, with Christian Prommer, with their first album (“Alex & Grizzly” (Derwin)), which has allowed them to play in clubs from half the world.
