From an uncertain place in the outer space we welcome this artist who has dedicated his whole life to music… the “New Life” 7 inch by Depeche Mode that he received as a gift when he was just 11 years old, was probably the guilty of being since then an addicted to the cold beats of drum machines and the alien sounds of synthesizers, which have been the soundtrack of his life, until today.
The 80’s catched him as a teenager, so he absorbed every futuristic and dark sound and became fan of new wave, goth bands, proto EBM & classics like Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream.
Deeply influenced by synth pop in the beginning, his sound soon moved to darker territories after discovering Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb, and later went into proto rave sounds via the Frequencies album by LFO or the Yellow album by Orbital, as well as those lovely Detroit sound compilations.
In 1995 he started his solo career as Hd Substance, releasing a track on the Electronic Generators compilation, a showcase of Spanish techno pioneers at the moment, on Geometrik records, and one year later he performanced for first time at Sonar Fest.
After more than twenty years in the international electronic scene, Hd Substance remains as a reference of the Spanish techno in all areas, composing, remixing and writing about electronic music… a whole life dedicated to music today at Garito.
